Material Submission to the Advanced and High-Performance Materials Database
For a materials developer, adding their materials to this database has the potential of quickening the pace of development for your material. The DHS Advanced and High-Performance Materials Database is a tool that is designed to bridge the gap between those that design and develop materials with those that model, design and construct infrastructural assets. The database focuses on the subset of properties that are important to the construction, infrastructure and facilities management industries. These industries, taken together, comprise the largest volume user of materials. They need new materials that will: lower the costs for construction; improve safety and security of new and already constructed facilities; improve long-term maintenance of facilities; upgrade facilities for better safety outcomes; and improve the energy efficiency of facilities.
The database is a space where the materials scientist, designers and engineers can display their materials for this industry and, if desired, advance the development of these materials along the industries requirements. It is anticipated that partnerships between materials designers and these industries will form.
